Nice use of depth of field; the subject was captured in an interesting pose -- looking at something... but what? the viewer will never know (but can imagine).

Although the lighting is harsh on her face, this is a strong photojournalistic image. As Mike suggests, her glance engages the curiosity of the viewer. I also like the negative space between her and her hat. What ultimately makes this a very good image, is the four figures in the background, with identical clothes and hats, spread unevenly across the frame. It gives you a great background context for what's going on in this scene. (Wish there was a little bit more DOF, though.)

Absolutely stunning image. Having the four figures in the background accentuated by the closeup of the hat at right, and woman in red at left make this really dynamic. Great use of DOF, colors, and composition.

Very good image. I like the composition very much , but can't help being curious about the face under that hat on the right that is hidden from view.

I would like to have seen the whole hat on the right... or not at all. But the portrait is great!

Very good picture, with a lot of atmosphere and storytelling. The composition is far from banal. Congrats! The light is a bit too harsh, you should have used a fill in flash to avoid deep shades on the front left corner girl's face

This is very nice, I love drinking tea. Take a look at my two tea plantation photos in the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia if you have time:
I really like your use of depth of field in this photo. Like the above commenter, I would also have liked to see all or none of the hat. I think the fact that the horizon is not quite straight actually adds to this photo too. Excellent.

Nice shot! Why is the person wearing such a different cap from the other. Is there a person on the right too?

Good photo, nice DOF, but minus notes. Would be nice if more information regarding how did you take this shot, what is in teh right side this lady is seeing, etc. Thx

Excellent! I only miss to see the whole image of the hat in the right side. Regards.

A great capture - I like the other ladies in the background. Nice contrasting colors. There seems to be some noise, though.

The composition in this photo is really crucial. The action in the foreground and background are reinforced by capturing the woman and her resting hat in the foreground splitting the image, while the DOF, causes the background figures, which become more like shapes than people, to strengthen the whole of the image. I actually prefer the stark lighting on her features, it seems very appropriate considering the conditions. The color contrast is striking, as well.
