Photographer's Note
How to describe the Taj Mahal? No amount of hyperbole will do. I'll just let my Let's Go guidebook do the talking:
"Despite all the hype and the hoopla, the sheer beauty of the place is so overwhelming that no amount of exposure can diminish it.... even the most jaded of globe-trotters often find themselves smiling in wonder as they behold the Taj."
"Emblazoned across the signs of a million-and-one restaurants, T-shirts, and biscuit tins the world over, this marble prima donna, unofficially crowned by her ardent fans as 'the most beautiful building in the world', remains India's ultimate must-see."
This was the absolute highlight of our 3 weeks in India.
This picture was taken at 8:30 AM, where the crowds are much thinner. We were very lucky that the smog was a little thinner that day.

Hi Ian
I agree with you. Definitely this is the most beatiful building in the world.
Unfortunatelly, I don't really like the way you have shown Taj Mahal here. The picture is tilted and I saw this point of view hundred times.
All the best
Henryk
PS. Don't worry - I took almost similar scene myself.

Hi Ian, you're right about this being one to the most beautiful buildings, it's also one of the most photographed. Henryke is right about there being so many shots from this vantage point, but I can't fault you for that. I have to agee though about the tilted horizon. I think the symetry of this perspective makes even a little tilt more apparent.

Hi Ian,
It's always a challenge to shoot something like the Taj Mahal. I know the viewpoint is used a million times before you, but at least you got a nice shot of the soft morning light and without all the tourist.
I would have done the same, this is what I call an 'insurance shot' :)

Absolutely true. I'll try to match your great shot the coming few days. Too bad of the wind, otherwise the refelction would have been even better.
Great capture.
