Photographer’s Note
I'm a poor mental handicapped Tamil man but I can read in your eyes your empathy in my sober life but sometimes I am afraid by seeing so much isolation, affection turned to stone, apathetic greed, measured friendship, desires and dreams exploited commercially, .... sometimes you make me afraid .....
Tell me,
who is the most poor,
the one living in his isolated illusions of self-satisfaction,
or
me ?
Look at me ...... Look at me ...

Hi Henk.
Many times I say that I don't like say in the critiques "superb", "great" or something similar.
But there are photos wich deserves these words.
And this is one of them. The way as this man is looking to us really impressive.
Technically is a good photo too. Good composition, depth, light and colour. But more important is that you were there in the right moment and you make a really impressive portrait.
Still I am thinking in these eyes.
Thanks for share.

John

Hello Henk,
Astonishing portrait! An incredibly piercing gaze, it sets one on fire, and features of extraordinary beauty... and you captured it with great sensitivity and expertise, with such beautiful Indian saturated colours, it is a haunting shot for sure--I just HAVE TO put it among my favourites,
take care,

he-he-he, very good note to accompany this excellent portrait!
Seems obvious his eyes stare through your lens... how do you feel now after you 'took his soul', Henk?
When looking at this portrait now, does it feel different from when you were taking it?
I love this one!

Hello Henk,
What an interesting face and what a marvellous sharpness. Sometimes I wonder if people can use such pictures without permissions. The yellow script comes at the right place in order to balance the face. So are the colors in general. I also agree that this picture deserves a great applaud. Izzet

This is a very unsettling image to me. As another reviewer noted "haunting". I think it affects me that way because it is so intimate. The Tamil man is hiding nothing and you have taken such a close personal photo.
Excellent photo.

Hi Henk,
I love this photo too. The story that this mans eyes tell is much that same story that our own indigenous people in Australia tells.
Thank you for sharing this photo.

Hi Henk, Only today I read somewhere that there is no such thing as OBJECTIVE REALITY. Reality is only what we perceive it as and is therefore subjective. The picture and the accompanying note tell me more about YOU than they do about the person you took photograph of. I know for sure that you are really a wonderful, a very compassionate person - someone I would be very happy to meet in person with and learn a few things from about life, people and yes, photography ! As far as my reaction to the photo is concerned, I like the hypnotic quality of your subject's eyes so faithfully captured by your mighty camera and missing-nothing eyes.
Best regards,
Sushant Singhal

Everything has already been said about this one, you are right, it is one of your most moving ones, also the accompanying note... A face that is haunting you, long after you have seen him...
What a beautiful, dreamy and soft expression - and I think that I can see you in his eyes !
Splendid !
