The Himalayan national Park between the Sainj and Banjar valleys in northern Kullu during the onset of fall.
Hydroelectric projects both large and small threaten the pristine ecology of the region.
Recently a congregation of the valley gods held a "jagati puch" where they expressed, through their "gurs" or oracles, an extreme displeasure for several hydel ventures in the region as well as a complete rejection of the high altitude Himalayan Ski Village proposed by the grandson of Henry Ford.
Alfred Ford, a champion of ISKON chants Hare Krishna on a regular basis in an attempt to convince the devtas that he is Hindoo!

Hi Vijay, this is a very nice image...you and your Lumix FZ30 have learnt to work toghether well. I like your perspective and the rustic tones of the valley vegetation. The yellow plants add extra depth to your image...well spotted.
It is sad that such beauty is threatened by people's greed and consumption on energy...when will we learn?
Cheers
Vernon

The magic of the autumnal earth and sky, especially for those who have "lived" the seasons like Thoreau at Walden Pond.
Thoughtful shot, Vijay.
