Photographer’s Note

Back in my favorite valley in the Himalayas, I went for a walk around Choti Jhamohar, a hill overlooking Chamba town. This photo was taken in a small school I found there. The girl is looking unhappy as she has just seen one of her classmate given a slap after answering a question incorrectly.

The schoolroom was in the outer part of a temple - I've posted a view of the building as a workshop.

Hi Rich,

well composed. You pulled the girl from the crowd by having her connect with the camera and built a successful photo around her. I feel that this brings the photo to a level where I am more able to connect with the moment and the story.

Hello Rich!
In addition to the consternation writ large on the face of your main subject, there is a rich variety of other expressions as well on the faces behind her.
Nice shot of the happenings inside a government school in rural Chamba -- a theme with rich potential in itself.
