Thanjavur Nandi sculpture, the second biggest in India, is inside the Brihadeeshwara temple in Thanjavur. I think it will have nice company with the two other nandi photos I have uploaded earlier.

A nice POV with ample light & sharpness.... Well done Lakshminarayana..
Actually, This is one of my favorite location, this temple. The "Periakoyil" as known popularly was built by Udayar, Sri Rajaraja chola, is a wonderful sight & big nostalgia for Chola Buffs like me who are ardent fans thanks to Kalki`s "Ponniyin selvan". It is a trip down our memory lane & wonderful spiritual experience for us.
This nandhi, rumoured to have been "growing" is a terrific example for the hugeness of Raja raja`s thought is wonderful. Though told to be not part of original construction ( I still beleive it is of the same construction) is surely an amazing piece of sculpture done in a single piece of rock.
Thanks for sharing this & please excuse me barging in to litter with ravings about my favourite spot.
