Photographer’s Note
It's a huge task supplying Ladakh with fuel. Throughout the summer hundreds of tankers make the jouney from Punjab via Himachal or Kashmir to ensure that the army and the people have enough petrol.
There aren't many petrol pumps in Ladakh so it's a good idea to full up your tank whenever you have the chance. I found this lonely pump on the road out of Leh heading towards Kargil.
