[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was an early Sunday morning when I visited the Taj Mahal - there are fewer tourists even if the entrance is free (or used to be) that day, but there are mainly Indians visiting this amazing creature of architecture.
I came across a complete family of Sikhs who were utterly charming. They saw me moving myself in all kind of strange directions to take photos of the Taj and they approached me, asking what a young girl like me did there on her own and if I would mind taking a few photos of them since they didn't have a camera. This was their only visit ever to the Taj and its mosque (Masjid) and of course I agreed fully. We exchanged addresses and I sent them a few photos when I got back home.
This is much of a posed photo but it makes me smile at the memory of the moment and also because all men have very different expressions, they are all quit queer and special in their own way. But they all have one thing in common and that is that curious, little nervous look as this is the only photo they will have from themselves in front of the Taj or its mosque. For them this really was a pose for life.

A pitty about the sharpness
Good note and colours

Hi !
Very interesting faces in the picture ! I imagine this is a scanned photo and probably this is the reason of the lack of sharpness in some faces.
Amusing to see the beards, and also the one at the left seems to keep his right arm just to fit in the photo !!
Your note is interesting. What about the sikh women ?? They did not have holidays or they did not want to appear in the photo ??
Regards
Antonio Elduque

Hi Sabine. great shot of these Khalsa Sikhs, good background as well. not sure if the developing or the scanning is so good. but thanks for sharing it with us.

Bonjour Sabine,
C'est avec un grd plaisir que je découvre ta galerie.
Tu a un faible pour les portraits et c'est réussi. Bravo

I saw this photo here long before I because a member of TE. It grabbed me right away. It's what my 'image' of India is in my head. You've captured these Sikhs well! All the best. Anthony
