have you noticed the truck driver on the left and the taxidriver have similar profiles?

even in january, afternoons were sweltering hot. and the traffic jam at the Red road was unbearable. must be a tough job for drivers to be on the roads all the time.

A very good one Arnab.
I loved it in monochrome.
A very much KOLKATA shot and really a cinemascope shot of Satyajit Ray/Mrinal Sen's depiction of Kolkata.

it works in b&w, for me the most important detail is the connection between your driver and the one in top left looking in opposite direction with a similar expression. great mess. my only suggestion would be to crop a bit of the top. i think it is a bit too much, virtually without any details.

Great as a black and white. It shows off the chaos on the streets of Calcutta. Its as of everyone is going in different directions.

I love the gritty, Indian Film Noir (is tghere such a besat!) quality about this. The driver, in silhouette, makes the shot for me, he brings everything else into focus, makes order out of chaos. Super! Francis

Hi Arnab,
Thats so funny, I know an Arnab Banarjee that went to business school with me at the University of North Carolina, and who was also into photography, but your picture does not look like him.

THis is a great photo it does have a movie feel to it. Very original?

This is a very nice picure. The profound contrast and the drivers profiles are amazing. I like the kind of serenity the taxi drivers has in the middle of the hectic traffic.
