Photographer’s Note
A local STRAY dog is patiently praying a plump, juicy, Tibetian dumpling will fall. My friend has brought a huge pot of momos to her granddaugther's boarding school for a welcome treat. The dog finally had it's wishes fulfilled when one fell on the ground. (there is no animal catagory, the people are invisible, but contributing to this dog's final delight) In India, (or Nepal) few people have pets, they do not seem to have this concept, as the entire household frequently lives in one room. This is no one's pet, but I am sure he would volunteer to go home with anyone who would feed him. Here is a note to any concerned: Pets are not allowed...... but rarily is a dog a pet to anyone in India..... they just hang around with this look on their faces all the time......We are sitting on a soccer field, hence the fence, which could be the normal dogs life in the western world. These are free till the police round them up periodically.

A good capture of the facial expression. The fence may allude to the caged nature of dogs, and perhaps also of people, within society. A Tibetan momo falls... The ears titled to the front in expectation and excitement. A calm expression within the eyes. The eyebrows were no doubt a little quivering in a slight pleading for a morsel shared by those that seem in a superior position. Nose moist and dark, possibly quite cold... the LG seems in good health. Even the white fur tie seems spotless. A most attactive portrait of a decent self-respecting canine.

Nice shot! Consider using Contrast Masking to bring out some of the detail that's currently hidden somewhat in shadow - for details have a look in the Tips-techniques forum :-)

This one just made my favourites. First of all, this is a beautiful dog, it looks very neat for being a stray. I guess the tibetans take care of their street animals. The expression and pose of the dog is great and so it the light. Excellent contast, sharpness and great use of DOF, I even like the texture and color of the lichen covered fence post in the background.
The only thing that is distracting is the bright patch of ground under the dogs belly and the bright spots behind the fence. Maybe you could have selectively darkened that?
