The shot is taken on our way to Mirik from Jorepokhri. Velvet green tea gardens flank the roads, and are a trademark speciality of the region. One can get down from the car, get into the gardens and see women plucking leaves.
Darjeeling district grows world class tea, and is why people come to visit Darjeeling, besides having the glorious view of Mt. Kanchendzongha.
For enthusiasts looking for details, this is the garden in the Gopaldhara tea estate, belonging to the Tea producing company Goodricke; the tea produced from these gardens are commercially available by the name "Thurbo".
Before I left for this trip Henk Jacobs (oochappan) told me "bring back some tea". So, I came back with some tea in my camera, my first shot from the gardens today. Well, I also came back with tea to drink, and I sipped a cupful this morning. |

Such a nice landscape, a gentle road climbing up in those tea estates.. I am a big fan of tea fields landscapes... even though I am a big coffee drinker..
I simply want to be there, walking in the middle of the green Ocean.

Hi Arnab,
A superb tea landscape - Splendid compo with the road and the cars on the right -
Thanks
Gaby
And indeed you did bring back tea, nice curving landscape indicating with the clouds that those plants needs the misty humidity to give all their flavour, all about tea... , incredicle sharp texturing on the leaves, you can count them almost, natural colortoning, clouds coud be a tiny bit more textured grey, the cool feeling you could break slightly mayby with a warm filter in the PP for those few.
PS I drink mostly tea in the South as soluble coffee is mostly used in tea-stalls.
Excellent capture Arnab.
