Boy selling lotus flowers in Srirangam Temple in Trichy. It is a huge temple complex, the biggest I have seen in India so far. There are some nice quiet spots where you can capture simple moments.

Hi Maciej,
I find this picture a little strange, because there is a really beautiful scene with the flower at the front and then there's the people displaying, what to me looks as, discontent. That give a weird mood. Anyway, I like your composition a lot, the two hands against a background that has a life of its own.

I'm impressed with what the 20D does at 1600, did you use flash here?

Very very nice. I feel this one is even more interesting than the one from yesterday but they look part of a serie. The thwo characters on the background add a lot to the mood of this picture and I like a lot the fact the one on the right is looking toward the flower too.

Funny, because the background could look like a drawing. I'm also curious to know if you used the flash ? Well, curious is my name, that's why :)

i love the spiritual feeling expressed here, and the onlookers (blurred up) made the lotus stand out...very nicely done.

Very nice scene in this way and with the really Indian background too. The right moment, good shot and a fine colour of the lotus !

Yep, it truly makes the connection, I'd be glad to make that shot. Just wonder whether you shot it at first sight or you asked for the scene to be re-pleayed.

Nice shot Maciek. The hands, the lotus and the diagonal line of the arms all look great. Good DOF too. For me, I think it would be better with a simpler background, as there are two people and a sign competing for attention, but probably very difficult to find something simpler in this case. The arms and the lotus just look so good.

Now this is cool, Maciek. These are the type of shots that I expect from your...interesting subject and composition. This is sort of the anti-flower shot in a way which is what makes it great. Colors are deep and spectacular with the lotus flower standing out rather nicely against the background. Well done.

This last posting is another masterwork, and so difficult to take because the two

i have always wanted to take a picture similar to this but with hands stretching in diagonal direction and with a simple background. So here i see the background somewhat distracting and of course the placement of the hands is not ideal IMO.
but of course here you dont have control over these things, you just have time to shoot. so i'd say well done :-D

A beautiful photograph Maciek. Very symbolic and touching with the wonderful lotus and the two hands meeting. A story telling photo. I can't say I'm really disturbed by the two people in the background even though it would have been nice even without them, but the bokeh is superb. The light is also very nice on the lotus, even though I'm not sure were it comes from. Well done.

Well I am going to give you two greens and make it half a ton for this pic, but I saw this on your pbase gallery and wasn't really impressed by it. If you look at it objectively, what's happening here is a flower is changing hands. So what? Sorry :)

Probably because we have seen just too many good ones from you in the past, this one really didn't move me in any way.

Your camera performed remarkably at iso 1600 though.
