Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken in the streets of Jaipur. We were buying colorful powders for the holi festival, taking place the next day.
Those men were putting powder on our forehead to test the colors, and one of them even tried a sort of xmas golden spray on my boy friend, which looked totally toxic. The color is still on the hindi orange sign on the left...
We ended up fighting with the powder and the sellers were laughing a lot. When the people saw us passing by with our multicolored faces, they had a big smile on their face and they were telling us "happy holi !"
Cropped the picture as I was part of it.
I forgot to say this powder smells very good, a rose fragrance... reminds me of India everytime I smell the ones I brought back.

May those happy colours stay away from my clothes! They look nice, but Holi is the only day travelling when I cannot go outside!

Brilliant is the word that comes to mind ... the moment we look at this Photograph...
Holi an annual Indian Festival is celebrated with great fervour especially in a large Area around Agra [Taj Mahal].
As far as the festival is concerned there are various variations of celebrating it , and this Festival is as colourful as the People of India,However i have serious reservations about the quality and user safety standards of
the Colours Used these days [like the ones shown in this Picture].There have been reports in the media that some are even mixed with small quantities of powdered Glass to make them look more brilliant. etc etc.

ah ha! good one, i was thinking of getting a pic like that today, but it was raining in the morning and the stalls were not out. Now, rain has stopped, i might try taking one tomorrow. But seeing your post, I am thinking otherwise.
thanks, Arnab
