Connaught Place : This image was taken at the center of Delhi and one of the most famous shopping areas in Delhi.
Sometidbits about Connaught Place :
Connaught Place is one of the largest financial, commercial and business centres in Delhi, India. It is often abbreviated as CP and houses the headquarters of several Indian firms. It was earlier the headquarters for the British. Its surroundings occupy pride of place in the city, counted among the top heritage structures in New Delhi. It was developed as a showpiece of Lutyens' Delhi featuring a Central Business District. Named after H.R.H. Field Marshal The 1st Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, the construction work was started in 1929 and completed in 1933. The Inner Circle of Connaught Place was renamed Rajiv Chowk (after the late Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi) and the Outer Circle was renamed Indira Chowk by Union Home Minister S.B. Chavan.

Hi Farhat, Nice point of view of this shopping area in Delhi. The commercial building in the BG has a unique structures with nice windows and columns. The little car on the right side looks like a taxi which similar to the one I saw in Cuba. A lot of city activities in the street. I wonder if this image would have been better in colours. Best regards

J'aime beaucoup l'impression de mouvement de cette prise au coin d'une rue très occupée. J'aime aussi l'utilisation du noir et blanc qui donne un petit côté reportage très intéressant.

Lots going on in this well presented composition which really suits the conversion to black and white. The background architecture is very intersting and has much charm.
Kamilutka (8095) 2014-02-18 7:57
well taken picture of Delhi's every day life.
The white building in the background is quite interesting, but what amazes me the most is the traffic on the street which seems to consist of every possible way of moving, including cars, tuk tuks, cyclists and pedestrians. Well captured from good POV.
Properly given sharpness and contrast.
Enjoy you evening!

I guess that the B&W format is due to unbalanced light conditions, Farhat.
The result is an exquisite sharp image, with details of the edifice shown beautifully, and by itself most impressive building.
People, cars and bikes on the scene gave a fine dynamic scale.

Very nice B&W photo. Your inclusion of the cyclist and the man and woman in the foreground is great and makes the photo much more interesting. I guess it but quite crowded here. TFS and have a nice day!

So many many times I have walked in this area, once staying in a hotel in one of these old buildings, other times staying not so far away. Apart from the modern cars this view looks very much like 40 years ago. The B&W conversion helps me to get that 1970's feeling. I have a suspicion that although lots of Indian streets are renamed after famous politicians and local heroes, the old colonial names remain the most widely used.

interesting architecture . i like b&W and active view.

Fabbs, this is a place I know with many contrasts are visible between poor and rich people in Delhi, Palika bazaar and Picadelly cinema are interesting to visit, good b&w street view with high definition, greetings

Your low contrast monochrome view of Connaught Place has the feel of the 1930s, and the architecture is colonialism. Good resolution is a bonus.
Thanks for sharing,
mirosu (15066) 2014-02-20 18:27
You have captured this beautiful building from excellent perspective. The people in front add nice life to the scene. Monochrome conversion works very well here. Excellent street snapshot.
Very well done.

Your picture has a nice subject but I miss the colour.
I see that the biker his wheels turn, this is very important for these picture.
Sharpness and clarity make these picture attractive.
Excellent captured, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

Beautiful composition with this beautiful colonial building, viewing on B & W, gives the image a timeless air, with the charm of the street life.
A bright image with optimum clarity.
Good job. I love it.
Enjoy a good weekend.

hello, I like this shot a lot. Nice presentation in monochrome. Good to see that fabulous architecture as background. Very well done. Tfs.
PaulVDV (23041) 2014-02-22 3:51
I stayed in a hotel in one of the sidestreets of this busy square. In my memory it was actually busier than on the picture. I remember also more auto rickshaws and less cars but ... memories can sometimes give a wrong picture.
Your choice for black & white creates a nostalgic feel.
Best regards, Paul
rychem (25216) 2014-02-22 8:46
This is a beautiful architecture photo it has a touch of the Indian atmosphere , we can see a rickshaw and a car Tata, very nice scene from life of Delhi
mcmtanyel (14567) 2014-02-23 6:13
It is refreshing to see a nice, crisp B&W photograph. B&W is also appropriate to emphasize the timelessness of the place. Well done and TFS!
elenimavrandoni (14207) 2014-02-23 10:06
great choice the monochrome, it makes it look like an image from the old times..the 3 wheeler on move is a great element of the culture!
Schnappilic (9690) 2014-02-23 11:47
Nice street picture with a real atmosphere of the city. I like it!
Apurba20 (984) 2014-02-23 23:50
The B&W brings out the white so well.
Don't remember CP being so excellent. You have got it so right.
Gigidusud (17005) 2014-02-24 11:09
A daily life scene well captured with a nice architecture on BG. Good choice for the B&W version and great framing. Well done!
krzychu30 (15510) 2014-02-24 23:59
B&W in this case makes we feel like we were looking at some old photo. And I have to tell you I love this old "retro" look and feeling of this image.Nicely created my friend and also the composition itself is well considered and executed!
Have a nice day
kato (11630) 2014-02-25 3:43
You're capturing well this architecture by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the Connaught Place with elegant structure, many windows and strong pillars. And, it's impressive in street spectacle.
mohammad_H (9548) 2014-02-25 19:23
Right angle, beautiful,
black and waith
a nice view of the light management
Best wishes to you
nikkitta (15334) 2014-02-26 7:48
Good POV to show the building, along with informative note
Like the place left at the front showing the caotic trafic in this part on ND
In a sense you risk your life standing there, the W&B gives a sense of old capture in contrast with the modern vehicles
Well done, tfs
cornejo (33336) 2014-02-26 11:35

Le choix du N/B qui fait penser a une ancienne image, pleine de vie, bien cadrer et composer
tenretin (2436) 2014-03-02 13:56
Nice shot, black and white gives depth to the image and the composition is interesting, and the note.
delpeoples (53667) 2014-03-03 1:26
Namaskar dear Farhat
This photo looks like it could be from the 1970s. I like the conversion to B&W, giving that sense of timelessness. I think you could have increased the Contrast a little and perhaps darkened it. When I get some time, I'll do a Workshop to show you what I mean. Nice work, thanks for sharing
ourania (33565) 2014-03-03 2:41
the building is elegant and impressive and your choice to present it in monochrome has exalted its style with a rhythmical repetition of geometrical patterns. It's well placed in the background of your frame, the people and the traffic in the foreground offer vividness and interesting daily life reference, they add information without distracting at all. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
