yes the road here is a highway (22) starting from the plains of haryana in ambala to the tibetan border in the state of himachal pradesh, cutting through and across the himalayas and breathtaking places like these.the river here is the sutlej river.

Fine photo of back breaking 'highway' like the texture and detailing on those cliffs flanking the river. The dams built have made this road very unstable. Nice one, thanks for sharing.

you have taken the shot from a good view point,it clearly shows the task involved of constructing a highway through such imposing territory.

This is an impressive road in this gorge!

A breathtaking route through the gorge with the river next to you in the depth.
Presumably, the road was constructed by using dynamite.
Good choice of POV and excellent sharpness.
Best regards, Paul

a beautiful frame here which shows nicely the character of the hills of this region. Great clarity and sharpness with marvellous depth. I can remember the making of guard wall at the edge of roads (a terrifying work no doubt), which can be seen at right corner of the frame. The road is nicely shown with those vehicles which are looking like toys but surprisingly runs through it everyday. Amazing. Excellent composition again. I also love mountains as you, but have a little chance to got into it. Keep sharing. Tfs.

This is a fine composition with the road and the river cutting diagonals through the mountains, This looks like one of the many mountain roads in India where accidents could happen.... The exposure and sharpness are perfect and I like the rough, grey and brown texture of the mountainsides.

This is another fantastic view and land formation by the river with excellent scale reference. I really appreciate the amazing amount of detail and credit to your ability to capture the grandeur. I love the vividness of natural colors, textures and warmness with nice shades and shadows and heaven in this wonderful composition. A thoughtful work and a seamless result my friend. Simply astounding shot, Congrats.

Were it not for the truck and tractor I would not even see the highway, as it is overpowered by the beautiful detail of the sheer rock faces, and blends in so as to be unnoticeable. Impressive landscape and I love the almost jade color of the water.
All the best

You have very well shown the dangerous atmosphere of these type of roads. I have also faced these type of roads during my various visit to Uttarakhand & Himachal.

Again a magnificient mountain scene with a road carved on almost impossible terrain. This time the fall to the river is not so deep, but I can imagine there's risk of rockfalls. I wonder if they are just repairing damages of one on the right.

I am fascinated by the rugged and dangerous roads that cross the mountains in places such as this. The road really hugs the side of this canyon. I like the quality of the picture with good detail in the jagged rock faces. The trucks give scale. Not a road that I would drive along!
Kind Regards, Ann
