This is a picture of the shore line from the cliff of Dona Paula in the Indian state of Goa.
The place is named after Paula Amaral Antonio de Souto Maior, a historical figure in Portuguese India. She was the daughter of the Portuguese Viceroy of Jaffnapatnam, in Sri Lanka. She and her family arrived in Goa in 1644 and she married a Fidalgo from Spain in 1656. Her husband was Dom Antonio Souto Maior. They were an extremely affluent family, and the entire property from the present day Cabo Raj Nivas all the way to Caranzalem belonged to the Souto Maiors. She died on December 16, 1682.
Dona Paula was a woman of charity and is known to have helped the villagers and worked a lot for their betterment, so after her death, the villagers decided to re-name the village as Dona Paula. Initially the village was called Oddavell.
The Dona Paula Beach is also a major tourist attraction. The Cabo Raj Bhavan is situated at a scenic spot of Dona Paula. It is also home of a historic British war-graves cemetery. Though India became independent in 1947 Goa became a part of India in 1961 when the Portuguese rule ended
The white building with blue windows is presently the residence of the Governor of Goa known as the Cabo Raj Bhavan.
Thanks for visitng.

I think I made a short excursion here during a visit to Goa more than 40 years ago, but all I remember was taking a few pictures of women working at a road project. You have taken a fine photo (much better than mine) with good light and colours. This must be one of the nicest placed Governor's residences in any Indian state.

The trees are framing well the buildings. The distance between the beach and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the déetails and the colours of the tropical scenery. Have a nice day.

A lovely sea view in wonderful colors and light with some attractive subjects. I love all that greenery and in particular the eye grabbing rocks formation giving the extra oomph to the whole shot. Crispiness, clarity and contrast are spot on and your high vantage point and compo combine to lead the eye deeper into the picture! Very well done shot my friend, Congrats and tfs

This is a beautiful shoreline and I appreciate the little bit of Indian history in the note. I did not realize the Portuguese influence in Indian history.

Nice view from a dominant position
I suggest you to describe your photo material in your profile, it will help me to write my critics
With a reflex camera it's more simple to control the lights than with a compact one
In this picture it was possible to under expose a little bit about -1/3

Dear Subho, I didn't know actually where it was located and I check on a map it's nearby Panaji, beautiful coastline mostly rocky and green vegetation, a coconut palm grove is clearly visible, vivid colors and neat picture, thanks, see you
danos (100798) 2014-01-23 8:32
nice the panoramic view of the shoreline with the palm trees to cover everything on the ground.I like the creative perspective with the small sandy beach on the right and the residence a bit further,to completes perfect the whole scenery.

a very lovely place with an interesting history. I like very much your elevated point of view and the way the seascape and the coast extend before us. The perspective and the movement of the sea create a pleasing sense of movement. The colours are beautiful, although the angle of the light wasn't so convenient. It's interesting that the governor's residence is isolated and far from the city centre. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
