Photographer's Note

Oh, he missed it!

Shot at Digha, West Bengal, India at 06:30 AM

Digha:
The name of the hamlet was Beerkul at the northern end of Bay of Bengal, just 183 km away from Kolkata. An English tourist John Frank Smith started living here in 1923. He was so impressed with the beauty of the place that after Indian Independence in 1947, he convinced the then West Bengal Chief Minister Dr. B.C.Roy to develop the location as a beach resort. Dr. Roy was also interested. Within a short time, Beerkul, renamed as Digha, came up as one of the most popular sea resorts of Eastern India.
