Photographer’s Note
I was in the beautiful hill of Gangtok (a city in east Sikkim) visiting the Hanuman Tok. Located 7,200 ft above sea level, it is 5.5km drive from the main city and offers you spectacular view of the city.
Something you'll notice anywhere in this region are the beautiful fluttering flags. I asked Bhima (Taxi Driver who was also our guide) about the significance of these flags - he told us that it carry messages of devotion. But this flag on Hanuman Tok was an exception - it had Aum (OM) written on it and marked the enterance to the holy temple.
It was very windy that day, I captured my very first glance of the flags and the very noticable chappals (slippers) of another worshiper of the temple.
By the way, just a quick observation - you usually don't find bells hanging right at the enterance of a temple - usually it's inside the temple.
