The Dakshineswar Kali Temple (Bengali: দক্ষিনেশ্বর কালী মন্দির Dokkhineshshôr Kali Mondir, Sanskrit: दक्षिनेश्वर काली मन्दिर) is a Hindu temple located in Dakshineswar near Kolkata. Situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, the presiding deity of the temple is Bhavatarini, an aspect of Kali, meaning, 'She who liberates Her devotees from the ocean of existence i.e Saṃsāra'.[1] The temple was built by Rani Rashmoni, a philanthropist and a devotee of Kali in 1855. The temple is famous for its association with Ramakrishna a mystic of 19th Century Bengal.
The temple compound, apart from the nine-spired main temple, contains a large courtyard surrounding the temple, with rooms along the boundary walls. There are twelve shrines dedicated to Shiva—Kali's companion—along the riverfront, a temple to Radha-Krishna, a bathing ghat on the river, a shrine dedicated to Rani Rashmoni. The chamber in the northwestern corner just beyond the last of the Shiva temples, is where Ramakrishna spent a considerable part of his life.

Natural and nice scene of life. I like the expression of her face and the red clothes standing out the stone. May be I would prefer a framing more on the right to keep space in front of them.

it's a good double portrait, taken whithout being noticed, so very natural and well lighted by a low sun which enhances the red Tshirts against the brown background. But you cut their feet, and you should have let more space in front of them and not behind.

a nice colourful double portrait with fine expressions. The red is really eyecatching with the brown at background. Nice light and depth but in my opinion you have to keep some space in front of their view. Otherwise it is a nice one. Tfs.

Hello madhumita,

A great idea, to show what we do not see, but we see all in the quality of light. A particular POV and the way you have decided to show what is not shown to us are very poetic ones. The pinkish orange colours reflected on the figures of a mother and her daughter is very well conceived. I particularly like the expression on the face of this little lady sitting closer to us. In the tone of the ever-changing sunset colours, we are asked silently to see a great moment. I see it in the light that is very ephemeral.

i do agree with another TE member in that the feet of the two subjects should be included in the scene, but overall, the emotion and feeling of the photo is still portrayed and felt by the viewer. So it still works :)
The sunlight is great, warm, and soothing.

Hello Madhumita,

You're capturing well this daily life by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the mother and cute daughter who sit on the stairs in front of a temple, and are looking at the long distance. You have caught their natural expression well. It is visible to an everyday fortunate spectacle. And, The red T-shirt which they wear draw out a good impact in the entire color combination.
