Photographer's Note

I was visiting the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sravasti and walked through a small village near the historic site. It was the day after the Indian festival of Holi, or, the festival of Colours, when Indians pelt each other with coloured powders and have riotous fun. In this village even the cows had not escaped being decorated for the festival. The meaning of this fun festival seems to be be lost in the mists of time.
