I have tried many times to get true colours of these heaps of colour, on film that is, but you have done it very well here. These colours are so intense that they are almost hord on the eyes.

Beautiful and incredibly intense colours. This could become an excellent benchmark basis for numeric cameras ... Sharp image and good composition !

...but these are not paints, but coloured powder, commonly called abir or phaag. These are used in festivals, and most common during the spring festival of "Holi". The tradition is to cover someone with abir, but the colour is not that strong to stay on the skin. This thing also contains mica dust, which make them sparkle. One may find abir in street shops near temples.

i love those powders, they're so colorful. but they do stain the skin, and it's a pain to get it off ! I have a similar photo during the holi festival.
