The Mondays of Shravana (a month in bengali calender which lies between 2nd part of July and 1st part of August) are very special for Hindu devotees. In each Mondays they used to take a dip in the sacred river Ganges and carry this sacred water to pour it on the stony idol of Lord Shiva. In this process they used to walk miles with bare feet.
In this frame you can see some of them who are in the Byaspur Shiva Temple complex are waiting for their turn. You can see also some part of this temple which is a unique with its terracotta style. In this frame you can see a 'Dhak' in foreground which is an instrument covered with leather in two sides and the sound created by two wooden sticks.
It was captured today morning and the sky was then not in its best. So, there is a burned portion at the left side of frame. Despite this, I like this frame very much and now sharing it with you. Hope you'll like the effort tried.

A colourful composition of these ladies waiting to perform their devotions. I like the upwards point of view and the presence of the drum bottom right. Also, the detail to be seen in the architecture of the shrine. Colours and sharpness are both very good.

Exotic colors, excellent PoV. I also like the diagonal positioning of the heads, very artistic. well done :) I even think we can crop the bottom to eliminate that pair of hands in the left, so I posted a WS. Hope you like it.

Good morning Subhendu
I above all love the Pov from the low and the positioning of the object on the right. It seems to begin a movement that the women continue, moving in the same appearing direction. I like colors also.
thanks for sharing this shot.
have a nice day, ciao

The colorful garb worn by Indian women make spectacular color highlights. Your photo, a candid shot of the small group from an unusual vantage point, adds the extra element of the spontaneous. I see also that the photo is as fresh as a loaf of bread just out of the oven, shot and posted the same day. The note is informative as usual.
Angshu (56760) 2010-08-20 8:43
Your low POV works well...but would have worked well if the dhak was not there. Good colours & thanks to your low POV, the ladies stand tall here. Good realization!
