It is a temple of lord Shiva which is almost 300 year old and situated at Saidabad, Berhampore. Today I am showing you the details of the design which was created at the time of temple building. You can find this design at the arch of its top. Different models of Hindu mythology are depicted here as terracotta form. Those designs are not found in its original shape due to corrosion of wind and water, actually the whole temple is now being ruined. The archeological dept. of India has taken charge of this temple recently. Hope it would regain its original shape and designs and precious artwork soon.

bello questo close up.
Vedo per la prima volta nella tua galleria,se non mi sbaglio, uno scatto del genere e mi fa piacere per questo.
Foto che con una buona luce mette in risalto i rilievi nella pietra.

A fine close-up on this architectural detail. The little figures are nicely reproduced with very good clarity under a sympathetic ambient light.

The close-up on this arch of the temple offers us a great variety of decorative details, which are a few authentic works of art.
The light and the shades on it create a nice effect that heightens its shapes.
I hope that the works of restoration return to this temple its original beauty.
A beautiful work, my friend.

Hi Subhendu, this is an excellent close-up. The details, textures and rich colour-rendering are all spot-on. And also the sharpness. Amazing the art they could make 300 years ago, they can;t make it like they used to! TFS and I wish you a good day, Lisa

Waw! Lovely details indeed!
If I'm not wrong this is the first time you post a photo of a hindu temple, and I was wondering why. May be you don't find any one in the area where you live...
But this is a great composition, so interesting and fine. So many pretty textures and colours and a nice light which enhances the details.

Thanks for bringing us the details of this temple...the arch of the temple brings to fore the artwork in layers which is akin to the artwork seen in Baluchari saris...The top panel show mahosasuramardini. This is a fine presentation of the lost art of Bengal...thanks for presenting it!
