The Ganges plunges from the glacial ice at Gangotri. The spectacular setting of this most holy site is dominated by 2 major mountains in the Garwhal Himalaya - Shivling and the Bhagirathi Peaks.
The photo was taken on a morning which was very clear anyway - a polarising filter was used to maintain the definition of the 2000 metre high vertical wall of the peaks.
It is very difficult to maintain some sense of perspective on the Himalaya peaks simply because they are so big. The cloud helps in that respect.

Great shot ith incredible light and nice polarized sky. Rock and ice textures are great. A photograph that is a good illustration for the term "vertical"...
Well done !

pretty impressive, I must admit. Good idea of including the tops of the trees near the bottom - they add to the scale.

I love the angles and geometry of this one. the polariser has done a good job on the snow and the sky. great composition

The use of polarization lens has spoiled the natural feel of clouds and sky. The snow is also not coming in its natural texture.
