Photographer’s Note

In Bodhgaya, under the sacred Bhodi Tree, the place where the Buddha achieved enlightenment, pilgrims come from all over the world. Here it is traditional to chant to suttas, that is, the teachings of the Buddha, in the Pali language. Sometimes pilgrims chant in groups of hundreds or even thousands, but sometimes two friends sit and chant together. Buddhist don't pray, we have nothing to pray to, but chanting the words of the Buddha,is seen as a meritorious act, seeking peace and harmony in the whole universe. Here a Thai nun and a laywoman are chanting ,in the early morning, together.

Très heureux de revoir tes photographies. Ici, encore, j'aime cette réalisation pleine de vie. Une photo qui permet de mieux appréhender la vie quotidienne du pays.
La composition est très réussie mettant parfaitement en valeur les personnages principaux. Dommage que l'on n'ait pas le son !

Hi Kevin

Perfect composure of the two nuns chanting for Buddha, well seen and nicely composed. Personally I would had cropped left a bit to get the nuns out of the center of the picture, but that is my individual style. Otherwise the colors are vibrant, the sharpness is adequate considereing the limited light source - a bit soft focus I would say - and nice DOF. Well done

Another well conceived and photographed scene Kevin. You've really captured the moment brilliantly with the clear figures in the foreground and the faded red background.
