Photographer’s Note
Keshoraipatan, located some 20 odd Km from Kota, is one of the oldest towns in India and was named as Ashram Nagar in the ancient times.
The famous temple of Keshav Raj or Kesorai (The Hindu God Vishnu) stands on a strong base of a very big platform on the bank of River Chambal. It is unique in terms of its wonderful architecture and sculptures and one has to climb a flight of steep stairs to reach the temple. The temple is elaborately carved with sculptures of various gods and the activities of their followers showing the daily life of that time. The pyramid shaped very high shikhar (tower) is built something like in South Indian style.
The walls of the temple have an elaborate carving work with images of various Gods and Goddesses. What makes the temple magnificent and artistically rich is the immaculate sculpture and architecture. In every inch of space on the wall and in the niches, images of animals of elephants, horses and images of Gods and Goddesses have been carved.
The Kesorai temple took 391 years to build & as far as known, was renovated by King Shatru Saal of Bundi in 1621-30 AD.
Here a devotee who had come from far, was circum-rotating the temple premises, after having offered her prayers to the Temple God.

Bonjour Angshuman
Un temple aux belles sculptures fines et ciselées, une femme en sari qui tranverse la place avec beaucoup d'élégance, tout celà donne un bon cliché clair et lumineux.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

nice looks of this temple with the lady in pink. She with her dress finely contrasted and completes the compo. Depth is so good that provides the detail of the temple wall and also the lady. Exposer is perfect here with clarity. Very good job. Tfs.

With such magnificence it is no surprise that this temple took so long to build. The inclusion of the lady in the colourful sari is a great addition to the scene and very eye-catching.

Hi Angshu,
the architectural element alone is an amazing photo, the lady walking into the photo is an extra bonus and making it a daily life image as well. Very nice color for such harsh light, the sharpness is maybe, just maybe a touch soft. Maybe if you have gone up 1/160 couldn't have help. Regardless, this is still so much better than many other, but I'm use to your perfect shot. Thanks

Hi Angshu,
fect choice for framing to show the detail of the ornate carvings; the worshipper is perfect inclusion with the intricate patterning of her garments echoing the ornate detail of the temple. I knew you would include a WS that shows the fully framed temple as well. As always, a very informative note.

Beautiful details again of the ornamented temple, with a good background including the sky. The lady is not bad, but looks more like a detail to me compared to the interest of the building.
All the best,

Ok for the lady in pink that's much better than a fat tourist woman with a pink trousers.
Interesting details on the temple, nice local scene.
I know that India is the best country for making local scene daily life.
