It is river Jayanti. The locality is also known as the same name. It is in the terrain area of the Himalaya named Doors. It is the gateway of Bhutan. Doors have many dense forest areas.
The river bed is so wide. But a narrow water line you can find most of the time throughout the year. But after a heavy shower, which is very common in this area, this river is filled with water. The water of hills flowes that time through this bed.
I took this shot at that time when the clouds arrives quickly and heavy shower would have occur in no time. A typical light was on river bed which lighted the stones and the thin water line, which made the foreground silvery. You can find a broken bridge here which is a rail bridge by which dolomites were carried in british era. The contrast of darker background with this silvery foreground attracted me to take this shot. I hope you like it.

First I read your title, but the river did not look like monsoon, then I saw the date, early June, that explains the little water. The clouds must be the first monsoon. I would recommend, that you take a series of such shots. always the same location, in order to show the change of the seasons. Technically your photograph is nicely framed and executed with high sharpness and vibrant colors.

yes, the luminosity of this cloudy and rainy day creates a nice contrast between the clear hues of the river bed and the a bit darker and gray background.
Such a green vegetation is a wonderful border that balances the image elegantly.

interesting landscape. I can almost smell that freshness. I like how you composed, reserving half of the image for the river and the other half for the trees. Well done, buddy!

you could add some contrast or saturation to here...But i've liked the perspective...Congratulations!

belle photo de cette rivière qui avec peu d' eau se fraye un chemin dans ces galets et gravillons.
Bien proportionnée avec ces arbres et ces nuages qui donnent de la profondeur a votre photo.

Hello dear Subhendu,
a very pleasant riverscape, a little more dark and with more contrast it could be perfect, anyway it's a fantstic shot.
Congratulations and TFS.

Ciao dear Subhendu,
I also have photos captured in India after a small monsoon, and the road is equal to this. Everything happens in few minutes and after little time everything it's as before. Interesting photo, maybe the human presence would have been pleasant, but I also appreciate the photo in this way. Compliments!
Ciao, have a beautiful day!

Very good shot, showing the river at the low season, while the sky seems to be brewing up some storm as the moonsoon season will approach soon. I know just how different the river change with the rain. I grew up in Loas along the Mekon, the different is night and day between the dry season and monsoon season. Good exposure here at this somewhat low light. all is in good details and texture. Good composition using the river to lead us in. Namaste.

Interesting how this river is so shallow, looking like as if it would dry at any time. The tones of green are wonderful in this picture, really a beautiful contrast! Good job!

quand il pleut....il pleut par là, un ciel et un ruisseau qui en disent long là-dessus. Des lumières assez fortes et une atmosphère que j'apprécie.
My best regards.

nice to sea so close the result of Monsoon, with the river waters to spread in the whole place of it.I read and the answer that you wrote to Urs, so i understand the reason that upload this shot.

Interesting geography lesson about the river and how it is affected by the monsoon. The sky tells of more rain to come, although it is a little over-exposed and if it was possible to darken it there would be more drama still. A well composed image where the lines of the river lead the eye into the scene.

A lovely and peacefull place well shown by your photography. I like especially the visual effect of the wet sand.

Great landscape photography, with a beautiful atmosphere because of the monsoon and beautiful "soft" colours because of the cloudy sky! Great light managment, great composition and framing!

A very beautiful work...a great composition thanks to the play given by the river, very good, well seen and done...and optim light management in difficult conditions!!
I send you a workshop...

I like the low point of view along this almost dry river bed framed by the trees. Also, the soft light and natural colours. The sharpness is very good. Urs' suggestion about a series of pictures depicting the seasons of the river would make a good photographic project.
