Photographer’s Note
Bhainsrorgarh or Bhainsror is an ancient fort, located 50 Km from Kota & the journey along the road takes 1 hour. Bhainsrorgarh was an impregnable fort, inhabited from at least the 2nd century BC. The palace inside the fort (part of which you can see to the left) is around 260 years old and was built around 1750 & It crowns a 200 ft rocky ridge overlooking the River Chambal. The palace has now been converted into a 5 bed room luxury hotel.
Bhainsrorgarh has become a major tourist spot in the state of Rajasthan, India. The famous British historian Colonel James Tod said, after seeing the splendid and mesmerizing beauty of Bhainsrorgarh, that if he was offered a Jagir (fiefdom) and given an option to choose it anywhere in Rajasthan, he would choose Bhainsrorgarh.
Once the boat was the only means of transport from this bank of River Chambal to the fort & palace. Now of course there’s a bridge which spans the river. The boat is moored to the bank most of the day, except when an occasional tourist wishes for a ride on the tranquil river. If that is not enough, one can enjoy barbequed fish while boating in the river. Anglers catch the fish in the river and roast it in one boat and then passing it to tourists seated in another boat floating beside. Those interested in angling can do it themselves also. There is another attraction while boating. The patch of Chambal that flows beside the fort-palace is a gharial (crocodile) sanctuary and there are plenty of gharials that one can see while boating. But to me, the lone boat did sum up the tranquility of the place (disturbed by mild ripples).....or a temptation for me to take it to the middle of the river & enjoy some freshly barbequed fish! ;-)

I like the boat, caught in nice light and well exposed. Also the attractive circular ripples on the left. Two issues, Angshu: first, I'm already in the new TE site, and this thick white frame is barely visible (in fact I only discovered it when editing the photo later on) (a thin black line could be included around white frames before posting, and in this way the white frames are visible in the new site), and second, this antenna spoils the atmosphere and your tranquility/barbeque message a little bit... so I tried a WS... regards, Daniel

That's what I call a picture perfect: the boat leading the viewer to the reflection of the rock cliff, a dream composition and perfect execution. Good work

how it must be refreshing to be there ,when we know how it can be hot in Rajasthan! To see this blue water with its splendid reflections, that gives me the impression that it's a very nice place, and that it must be good to stay a few days! The blue is really fantastic,as the brilliant texture of the water with the ripples on the left, and I like very much the boat of the foreground with the light inside!Superb!

Angshuman,
The reflection makes this shot! The reflection adds nice depth and balance to the scene. The boat in the foreground breaks up the symmetry nicely while adding a nice point of interest. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and DOF.

Hi Angshumanda,
Machh bhaja khete khete noukobihar!!!...a very luring idea. If you add the prize of sucha a serene river and the age old fort as a backdrop, the fish would taste even better I guess.
Very good natural colors here!

Hi Angshu
Wonderful symmetrical reflections, with good colour & saturation. Good warm cold colour contrasts between the orange / red rocky cliff, and boat; and the blue sky & water. Tfs!

Hi Angshu,
Very peaceful and calm atmosphere... this is a nice image with a great composition and the light quality is outstanding. I love this very clear reflection and the construction of the image.
As it has been said before, it is true that this antenna is ruining this quiet scene, but do we have to modify reality? good question ;-)
Have a nice day.
Best regards, Christian

Bonjour Angshu.
Cette photo est superbe avec des couleurs extraordinaires et cette barque qui dirige le regard sur la falaise qui se mire dans l'eau bleue.

Sabaidee Angshu,
I like how the light fall on the little wooden boat, very charming and delightful, the POV is very inviting for us take a little boat ride on this tranquil lake. Yes that is a very nice temptation. good quality, good composition, in the ideal world I would have like to see the whole boat, but I will take what I got here. Cheers, have a good day.

This pict produces in me a sensation of "deja-vue" with some of your previous shots...if it wasn't for the boat in the foreground that adds to the image a perfect balance, at least for my taste!
A quite pretty scenery Angshu!

Hi Angshu,
The excellent framing, color and reflection make this a real stand-out!! Next time, DO yield to temptation and enjoy freshly-caught fish, cooked over an open fire on the river; it sounds delicious!! Assuming, of course, that you don't end up as a crocodile's lunch. Perhaps these fellows are tamer than the ones in Australia - or perhaps the Australians just love a good story.

Hi Angshuman,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view leads our eyes toward the village on the cliff which is giving depth to the photo. The presence of the boat has an effect of scale. The nice blue sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Angshu,
A well built compo with strong FG and beautiful view on the fort with reflections. We like our mobile phones, but the red and white towers are a real nuisance nowadays!

Hi Angshuman!
I hope this finds you and yours well ..
Stunning and beautiful color .. from the water through the cliff face .. I love the stillness .. it has a sense of peace and tranquility .. as well as the power of nature in those cliffs .. there is part of me that wants to do horrible things to that tower with the clone tool ... wonderful image. take care, John
