maciek, you know what I think about bla bla blah... I just don't look at the girl, she's like a human wallpaper with a near to 0 element of surprise and sorry for her but she's as expressive as a statue of salt, however this one portrait holds nicely because of the guy behind gives the hint of msytery that any photo needs.
I just wish I saw a white glimpse in his eyes.

This is really a great portrait Maciej with the girl frankly looking at you and the old man in the background who leans with curiosity to see what occurs

krakus (1581) 2004-11-07 7:29
reverse DOF? I'm looking at man behind all the time
marcelo_gomes (517) 2004-11-07 7:47
Nice crop and colors. Very intersting the man at background.
ChrisJ (117195) 2004-11-07 7:56
Excellent portrait, with superb use of dof. The colors of India are shining in this image. I like the slight tilt of the out of focus man in the background.
wilkinsonsg (8662) 2004-11-07 8:10
Great image - I like the POV and the blurred/DOF taking in the elder generation looking on :)
kikvel (4784) 2004-11-07 8:41
very nice portrait Maciej!
Strong and beautiful face she has...even though she is so serene and with almost no expressions...
the man at the back blurred is a good add on.

I think this is very nice Maciek, no doubt about it. Quite honestly, it is a little safe in terms of subject/composition. I guess I am coming to appreciate your attempts at scenes as opposed to closely cropped portraits. The second person in this certainly does add interest. technicals are excellent, the symbol between her eyebrows is so sharp is almost seems to float. Good shot.
Tatankasolsona (0) 2004-11-07 12:53
another superb pic
jackwp (519) 2004-11-07 15:21
An excellent capture. The older gentleman in the back is probably her father who is wondering what your intentions are. Nice portrait of an interesting girl. Colors and clarity are very good.
eleparc (24063) 2004-11-07 15:56
great idea to have this double portrait.. the woman is well complemented by the portrait of this old curious man from behind... He brings the color touch and a wit in this shot;-) i really like it

In my opinion the most impressive thing about this photo is the girls skin face and her eyes. The texture in her skin so perfect, almost real. Her black dark eyes along with the dark make up around gives a powerfull feeling. Great shot Maciej

An excellent double portrait with clever use of DOF. I like the close and tight framing. The straight position of the woman face gives a magic (or even holy) touch to this scene. Wonderfully composed and captured, Maciek.
Did you use a flash?
scalerman (26900) 2004-11-07 17:22
wonderfully frank. I love the DOF... blah, blah, India at its most elegrant and real...
michel_r (1118) 2004-11-07 17:45
very nice Maciek. I like very much the guy in the foreground with his many colors from his hair to his cloth. Creates an intrigue. What is he doing here? Whom is he watching?
christina (2040) 2004-11-07 19:37
an exceptional beauty captured !I like the composition and the hint of the older man in the background. Still and beautiful.
DaveLarson (798) 2004-11-07 23:16

pridel (233) 2004-11-08 15:53
very beautiful double portrait. the old curious man is more effective than a simple bottom of color. he takes an active part in the success of the compo.
as for the woman, she resembles to a princess, a little proud.
very good coloured work
everlasting (15358) 2004-11-08 16:11
My eyes are drawn to the old man in the background. Very clever DOF.
alimo3 (6854) 2004-11-08 18:43

Camela was born for the camera! I put this as a favorite yesterday, sometimes, beauty transcends desire, and your talent in bringing us this heavenly face matches her stunning appeal.
I am sure Krishna himself did not have more beautiful a cow-girl!
manny (21833) 2004-11-09 5:26
Maciek...nice tight compo showing a lot of context. I like the colors...the way it looks like with desaturatd background. You always see good results when you crop your pics tighter. But like you, I am trying to step back a little and include the context. I am learning a lot form your shots Maciek...and you probably is unaware of this. Thanks a lot.

Sorry about your digital rebel. That was the thread that led me here. You have some great shots. I like the way you have composed and framed this shot. The man in the background really seems to be curious as to what you are doing. Great colors. Hope to see more of your pictures taken from your 'New' camera.

Again, you ars surpassing yourself with this great double portrait: Again, worth of using it as a book cover if you make a book about India. Very striking. I must
go to Pushkar again one day.

I suddenly saw that I did not give any comments on this old one. This is realy one of my favorites. That girls face is truly magical to me. Wonderfyl portrait.Perhaps even better than the other one of that same girl but I like them both! I do not have to say anymore.....10 points.....

Hi Maciej, when you took this picture i wasn't even a member, this is sooooo goooood! love the compo, the pretty young woman and the curious old man!
One of your best portraits.
dumaresq_ca (1892) 2005-06-27 15:03
Beau portrait: l'arričre plan en couleur et flou donne profondeur, anecdocte et rythme au sujet plus statique.
quillo (11856) 2007-02-19 8:29
Beautiful portrait, fantastic light and a magnificent framing, congratulations. I am glad to have seen it, thank you.
