Photographer’s Note
Shot taken along a walk around Devohat market.
-.-
It's time to leave. I need to leave and discover something new. To cut for a while and breath new air, taste new flavours and meeting new people.
Need to talk another language and cast away, flying high, towards a new dream.
Nicolas Bouvier in his beautiful book "l'usage du monde" described in this way the desire of travelling:
"It’s the silent contemplation of the atlases lay down with belly on a carpet, between the ten and thirteen years, that grow the wish to leave all. You start thinking at regions like It is found again to think to us next to regions like the Banat, Kashmir, or the Caspian; to the music that resound, to the sights you will meet, to the ideas that will wait for you… When this desire resists to the first attacks of the good sense, you start to find some excuses. But are just for a song excuses. The truth is that you don’t know how to call what is pushing you. Something in you grows and cast off the moorings, till the day in which, without many confidences, you finally leave. A journey does not need reasons. Before long, it proves to be reason enough in itself. One thinks that one is going to make a journey, yet soon it is the journey that makes or unmakes you".

"One thinks that one is going to make a journey, yet soon it is the journey that makes or unmakes you." That is so right!
(And the man in the picture seems to know it. Or is that just my imagination getting carried away?)
Thanks.

Superb portrait shot, Lucas.
The sharpness is exquisite, the shadow not too dark, and the 'bokeh' makes a superb background. You've captured the character in this face very well, especially the wry look in his eyes. An excellent photograph and nice note.

Hi Luca,
Good to see you....how you're doing, hope all is well.
Of course you bring us a very strong image and this portrait is another beauty in your outstanding gallery. That smile is priceless, he looks shy and proud at the same time. Love the tight crop and the simple cap he is wearing.
Great sharpness on his face and very soft and smooth bokeh in the background...great shot..!!!

Henk

salve Luca
this man is really amazing with his ear ring, his natural and gentle smile, the sort of of handkerchief as a hat and above all his sparkling eyes
the BG is ideally blurred and the general quality is top as usual. No wonder with the 80-200!
Grazie mille

Ciao, Luca. A very good portrait to start your collection of Indian images. The expression on the man's face hesitates between shyness and pride. There are very good details and, despite the sun, no harsh light and no strong shadows. A good bokeh makes the man stand out very well against the background.
Have a nice evening,
Philippe
