Photographer’s Note
The City palace of Udaipur is Rajasthans largest palace and has a facade of 244m long and 30.4m high.
This is one of my first attempts at blue hour, I could not decide whether to leave in the branches at the top or not, if they were too distracting.

Hi Wanda,
A very nice palace overlooking the water, good blue hour timing, about your dilemna I'd crop the view to be more panoramic in format and so would remove those branches.
Have a nice day JY

Hoi Wanda,
Groetjes,
Henk

Well Wanda,
that looks to me as a successful attempt at blue hour. I love this dark blue you got in the sky. The reflection is awesome and I don't find those branches distracting. They help close the composition. I would even have like to see some more on the top left corner to act as a frame within the frame. Still, very good shot.

It is indeed a nice blue hour shot. However, I believe that a couple minutes earlier would give you the chance of having a bit more light in the sky. Anyway, it is very good and the palace looks impressive. The reflection is excellent too. For the tree branches they do not distract me but I would probably had them removed. Well done.

Great attempt with the soft texture on the river and the great city lights reflecting there. For the branches hard to tell, it gives some depth here but if you remove I think you would have to crop a bit to remove some sky.

Hi Wanda,
I don't think the branches are distracting as they are just a silhouette and give some depth to the take... Good sharpness and nice colors with great reflections you got here!

Hi Wanda,
A subdued blue of the sky at blue hour is very impressive, and wavering reflection on the water brings a big charm to this image. I like also fine sharpness on the buildings and trees. Beautiful blue hour shot.

This looks even better than the previous post. Superb under the blue hour, the artificially lit up palace comes out crisp & clear. I like the inclusion of the small silhouetted branch at the top. The reflections are also fine! A fine shot!
Best regards

Hi my _ _ _ _ _ _ Wanda!
I think I have seen this scene before, maybe I even have my own version somewhere... :-P)
It might be one of your first attempts at blue hour, the results are there to prove that your photographic knowledge have prepared you to do it with brio. I also remember that we were there at the very last minute, almost running to put it in the can before black sky would prevail, so your reflex were sharp and ready to tackle this new challenge.
Please Wanda forgive me if I'm being honest with you, but although you have succeed doing without preparation what some of us can't accomplish after many essays and errors, I'm not a fan of this branch hanging right in the middle of your composition. I think that by cloning it in one of the corners instead would have guaranteed a better impact. At least, that's my humble perception.
Other than that, you have perfectly controlled and managed the artificial lighting, as nothing appears overexposed and the golden tones are simply exquisite.
These images will be forever associated with the good moments I had in your presence.
Hugs. Many of them.

Dag Wanda, I dotn think the branches distract at all rather provide a natural framing. Super attempt of capturign the blue hour. The palace beacuse of its lights comes nice and sharp. The reflections also work.
