Photographer’s Note
Most camels have gone off into the sunset, only remaining ones now, were ones no one bought yet, or with men still buying. This man was still here arguing over camel prices. Puskar Camel festival.

Very nice and well done portrait, maybe a bit underexposed - tried to bring in a little more light in the face.
(Sorry out of points)

Great expression and great colors. The shot is very sharp as well. In my opinion, though, the crop is a little tight on the right side and on top. I agree with Jack that it's a little underexposed. I'd like to be able to see his eyes more clearly.

It's a wonderful, sharp, bright, and well framed portrait. Great work Gloria!
It reminded me of another image from India I saw here on TE some times ago. The men were very impressive to me. So I had to check all my critiques again but... I found it! And I saw you critiqued that pic too, it looks just like the same man a few years older. Look here. Could it be the same man on the left?

I like the image but, like the others, I'd like to be able to see the eyes of the man. It would have been nice to have a bit of open space on the right side.

This is another one of your shots which I really like Gloria, and one in which could be greatly improved through some simple post processing work. The important thing here is that your exposure is really excellent. There is no part of this shot which is blown out, and there is nowhere where all the details have gone to black. If you could simply run the contrast masking procedure I have talked about in the forums, as well as perhaps doing some slight curves and saturation adjustment, I think this shot would look worlds better. I will post a workshop, it took me only a few minutes, yet I think there is quite a difference.

Very nice pic. I read a very good tip the other day for occasions like these:
try to make the man hand a page of white paper in it's hands. The reflected light will 'unfold' the eyes!

Wonderful portrait, Gloria. A litlle bit dark, but after seeing the WS i can see clearly that this is a very sharp and well captured portrait. The orange color and the texture of this turban go very good with the white hair and the color of his interesting face.
The earing completes a very good composition. Well done.

L'expression d'un homme du désert. Quel dommage qu'on ne puisse voir ses yeux. Très beau portrait, bien cadré. Félicitations Gloria.

A very nice portrait Glo. Exposure on the face is spot-on - you couldn't ask for better skin tones. Maybe the sky is a trifle blown out - can't be helped, that's the way it was on the day, and of course the face is the important thing. The turban looks a little washed out (I mean the colours look weaker, less saturated, than I'd like or expect from India). Darren suggests you can fix this using Curves in Photoshop. True. You can also fix it by using a brush (a soft one) set to Colour Burn mode. What this does really is simply to increase contrast in only those parts touched by the brush. It might help make the sky bluer, too. I love the light on the face.
