The original structure of the Nagaur Fort was built in the 4th century. Most of what is around today, however, was erected in the 12th century. It covers an area of 14 hectares or 35 acres. To say the least, it is massive. In this photograph, on the eastern side, is a pair of bastions complimenting the crenellations on the wall. In fact, there are two walls, the inner being 30 feet thick (say 9 metres).
