Mandawa is a wonderful place to visit in the less frequently visited Shekhawati region of Rajasthan (north-east area). The Havelis are being restored and repainted to their original colourful glory. They were built for the wealthy rajput merchants in the 18th century. The town is no longer so important for trade but because it has so many beautiful buildings and interesting streets it is worth detouring from the normal Rajasthan tour routes to visit. While wandering around Mandawa we came across this delightful scene. I believe that the man is making tea (cha) and selling it. Tea seems to be a favourite drink sold by the roadside.

A very pleasant street scene with a very calm and peaceful mood. The different "actors" here provide many fine colours to this capture.

Hello Ann. The East Indians that I work with often drink chi tea for break time, and they always add milk. My friends are from Punjab.
I gather you have no fear to venture out into these kinds of settings. The stone drain does look interesting, perhaps its clogged. Add to the details I notice their footwear...I love the man on the right with white shoes and socks. Its below freezing here in Abbotsford and tonight I saw an East Indian woman walk into a store with thong sandals. Amazing place and excellent time capture Ann from Mandawa.

fine example of a typical third world streetshop.
The men are sitting there very relaxed in the beautiful warm sunlight.

This is nice street scene with good crop and view point. We have good contact with principal character that bring this shot to life. Focal of interest, the central fig in red with his intense look is a great draw to the eyes, a good lead inviting us to explore the scene. I like the atmosphere this image generates and can get a sense of what it would be like to be there. Well done, Congrats
