As I have already said, not only does Kumbalgarh have its impressive fort but it is situated on top of a small village in the countryside. (I have to post a view so you can see what I am talking about) We met this couple and their camel whilst hiking in the Aravalli hills. We spoke breifly, the wife shyly kept her distance, I would have loved to have heard their story, where they were heading to on foot, but unfortunately our knowledge of hindi is too limited.

I hope this is part of the pleasure side of your trip, not the business side of it! Great portrait, good inclusion of the woman in the background.

Elaine: your pilgrim in the background is a great flourish to this already engaging shot. Great details, and color. Very nice. c

Hello Elaine. A very interesting photo and just as fascinating small story. Titles, photo and text fit in the best way. Also the composition is excellent. Compliment for this skillfully realized photo. Best regards, Wolfgang.

This is another superb picture. The contours of the two persons and their camel (dromedar, I guess), form an almost perfect ellipse with one red and one blue (almost turquoise) side. The couple's postures tell us a lot about Indian society.
A beautiful and informative picture.

I like the colour and etxture scheme in this essentially rural rajasthan shot Elaine. Nice frame and lovely balance

Three characters almost equidistant from each other in the frame, but all so different! I had this experience of not able to converse with village folks in South Rajasthan even with my Hindi. Good slice of daily life here!

This is very nice, Elaine - plenty to cast one's eye on. Speaking of which after a painful one and a half year regimen with my all manual rangefinder, I am "eying" the Nikon D90 - I try it out everyday at the Nikon gallery in the Ginza. Lovely cam, isn't it? How are you finding it?
