Photographer’s Note
Not that much to say about this shot.
I was walking down the road when I saw this child waiting for his mother to finish inside the shop. I liked his serious look, and took the shot even though the light was quite bright, and I decided to use a very shallow depth of field for a different kind of feeling from my normal type of portraits.

the focus seems to be on the hair rather than the eyes but still an impressive portrait wanda... loved THE look...

Hello Wanda! What a cute kid, and yes so so serious :))) but probably it was just a little shy towards THIS stranger. I like the background color with the yellow stripe, I guess this makes the whole situation different and very special for me. It has an artistic side, very nice indeed, also great how you have more space left on the left hand side, very good this way. Beautiful work, I like it a lot. Happy evening ... good night ... Barbara.

Hi Wanda,
yes, that´s what I like...and you had the ideal lens..85mm and a wide aperture..
and the background is wonderfully corresponding to his shirt.
Great one !
Cheers Chris

Nice portrait - a strong and intense gaze here. The 2 toned lighting works well considering the glance.

Hoei, Wanda
He's looking at you and how.
Niet echt vriendelijk, maar zeer overtuigend.
Beetje out of focus, maar het licht is prachtig,
Groeten Gerrit

Dag Wanda,
Impressive shot, great shallow focus (though its imperfection have been pointed out here). I love that patch of pink (?) on the left.

Hello Wanda!
I'm surprised that you're not gone on a trip...again...;) hey you brought back very nice pictures from India!! It looks like you were really prolific!
I like the bokeh that perfectly fits the color of his shirt! I also like the compo because you off-centered the kid and you frame tightly on him.
It's really too bad that the focus is not perfectly on the eye. The 1.8 aperture does not forgive just a tiny mistake!! You have to be very precise with this beast!
Best regards!
Marc

Hi Wanda,
I like it a lot. The shallow dof and the softness of his face with the focus on his shiny hair make his expression even more serious. Wonder what he was thinking and what he looks like when he laughs..
Good shot!
Thanks and take good care,
Linda

Hi Wanda!
Excellent portrait, what an intense, "penetrating" and mesmerizing look!! Great framing, simple but effective composition, great, "shalow" depth of field! Very impressive light managment, amazing how half of the face is in the shadow! Congratulations!

Wanda: perhaps in no other country will you get that enigmatic, 'to your bone', drilling stare - all without any hint of animosity. Nice work. c

Wanda, wow que mirada del chico.Esa linea colordida vertical desenfocaa en el fondo genera un hermoso marco para ese rostro hermoso. Su mirada es realmente penetrante.
Felicitaciones.
