Very nice picture and composition. Her demure smile behind the viel is most touching.

Excellent portrait Elaine. Having the veil across her face makes it very intersting. Soo nice that we're able to make ou the face clearly
All the best

Nicely detected and well grabbed picture of an Indian women. Her smile is key in this picture beside nice colours of her sari..

You have a beautiful woman as a subject and of course her coourful cloths add point to the picture, really like this portrait and maybe just a little bit annoyed by the fly, some photojob maybe can remove it. Anyway its a very well composition, thanks Elaine...

Elaine: a beautiful and subtle portrait - colors are judiciously tuned here. The veiled smile is a winner. congrats. c

well seen elaine !
happens quite often that one finds a smile or a laugh behind the veil of shyness. This latter does not last long, usually !

Un grand bravo pour toutes ces merveilleuses images et portraits d'Inde, comme celui-ci en particulier. Un sourire plein d'exotisme et de tendresse.

A very interesting effect here, Elaine, with the veil creating its own "grain" so to speak, not to mention the beautiful play of colours.
I just don't understand this site anymore, you know... A straight forward shot of a turbaned
man gets huge recognition and then this truly fascinating exercise in portraiture gets relatively little notice.

How nice to see her smiling at you, in spite of hiding her face with the veil. Oh, these Indian colours...
I don't recognize those bangles around her arms. Are they common in that area?

this is very beautiful Elaine. Her smiling face, those big eyes behind the fine, so feminine veil...there is mystery and sensuality, the yellow warm, and the other strong colors of the sari. Those bangles are also something unusual, do you know more about them ? and the tiny yet very presence of the fly. I love the slightly grainy effect caused the veil too. Well done, most charming work.

Great, great portrait...had it not been the veil & the see-though, this would have been just another piece of work..(Vincent is 200% correct...but enjoyment & not sweating about points is the key). Everything's perfect in my eyes & love her smiling eyes seen through the ghungat...what's on her left arm...bangles?
