Photographer's Note
The Mehrangarh Fort is located on the hilltop that rises sharply at the city of Jodhpur. With its 68 ft wide and 117 ft high walls soaring 400 ft above the city the fort dominates the surrounding plains and appears very majestic and impregnable. The Mehrangarh Fort was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459.
In this picture, on the right, towering above the outer wall of the Fort is the Moti Mahal or the Pearl Palace . The palace has a delicately carved stone screen and treasures the Sringar Chowki, royal throne of Jodhpur, exquisitely decorated ceilings and walls, with delicate latticework on the windows, large and unusual wooden statues, painted bright, amongst an assortment of princely cradles. It is a labyrinth of wonders, not knowing what the next doorway might lead to. These palaces have fabulous collection of trappings of Indian royalty including a superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings of various schools, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. The Moti Mahal has alcoves along the west wall, which can be seen here.
Built by Raja Sur Singh (1595-1619) the Moti Mahal is the largest of the Mehrangarh Museum's period rooms. Sur Singh's Moti Mahal has five alcoves leading onto hidden balconies; it is believed they were built for his five queens to listen in on court proceeding.
Some of the palace rooms, seen here from down below, offer the possibility to watch entering and leaving persons from a bird's view.
In the two Workshops -
1) A frontal view of the Moti Mahal &
2) An attempt to show the steep vertical wall with the Moti Mahal perched on top.

Hi Angshuman
A good upward pov on the fort, with excellent sharpness & shadow detail. I like the division into 2 diagonal halves. Also a nice warm cold colour contrast, between the red rock & blue sky. Tfs!

Hello Angshu,
A different point of view as you go close, making the structure look even more impressive..!
A fine diagonal composition where the blue sky makes a great background, fine details and great colours in the ancient architecture...

Hello Angshuman,
I really like your POV.
It shows the grandeur of this beautiful Fort very nicely.
The diagonal you created with help of the blue of the sky and the reddish Fort supports the perspective of the image.
Brings up memories of my stay at Jodhpur. :-)

An excellent trilogy of images of the fort. Your close, upwards POV works very well to emphasise the height and add drama. All are good but I agree with your choice for main post. The strong diagonal adds more dynamics to the image. A good all-round presentation.

Hi Angshuman,
This is an impressive fortress, it seem that each room with a winddow has an excellent view. The angle of the shot is showing with details and colors of the stones of the fort. There is a good contrast between the colors. Have a nice day.

Angshu bonjour.
Quelle belle architecture ! J'aime cette vue en contre-plongée et les belles couleurs de la pierre. Cette construction en impose. Les vues en WS complètent bien cette photo.

Hi Angshuman,
Good graphism in this setting, the diagonal of this Fort in a low angle shot works very well and gives an effect of great perspective.
The sky is a nice backdrop to this impressive architecture.
The complementary photos in WS offer us more information about this interesting place, in a good work for TE.
Great work, my friend.
Best regards,
Josep

I think that I like this close view of the fort's wall even betten than the previous ones. The top looking view gives a good idea of the height of the walls, and the architecture of the building with the different towers is finely detailed.
All the best,

Hi Angshuman!
What a pov you have here! The monument seems really huge seen from this place. I like the diagonal line it forms. The others are very good also but I guess I would chose this one also, especially because of the pov.Colours and sharpness are very good also!

Very beautiful shot Dear Angshu! I like a lot the way you managed to hide the sun from our view by getting close to the walls so that you obtained a somewhat unique point of view. Great colors and light!

Olá Angshu, this post is special to me, because I know the place and POV so well :) And you have 3 great photos. And you also have a 'vertigo' view, but the other way around :)) It's dificult for me to choose which one I like more, but I guess this is one a good choice, because of the balance with the sky and the better lighting that make the details stand out more. Love it.

Hello Mr. B,
Whenever I come back to TE after a sojourn away, I am eager to see your latest posts. And indeed they never disappoint. This remarkable view of the imposing edifice, crowning a natural imposing structure makes it powerful and unforgettable. The technical aspects notwithstanding, the note is as usual informative and pedagogically useful.
Warm regards,

Your 3 photos are very impressive, this one is the best thanks to the light... It reminds me of one of the best rooms I had in India : the affordable single room (only one) in the Orchha fort, also perched on a cliff with a spectacular large view on the plain below -
Very well composed and nice colours,
Compliments,
Cath.

Hi Angshumanda,
Great view of the fort. Very effective POV. However, on looking into the WS, I found the WS#1 to be more appealing, though I can't and shopuld not take anything away from this one. Good color tones. Majestic view.
