Entry gate to Jaipur's beautiful City Palace.
City Palace includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings, is a palace complex in Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan state, India.
It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence.
The palace complex, which is located northeast of the centre of the grid patterned Jaipur city, incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings.
The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. He planned and built the outer walls, and later additions were made by successive rulers right up to the 20th century.
The credit for the urban layout of the city and its structures is attributed to two architects namely, Vidyadar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, apart from the Sawai himself who was a keen architectural enthusiast.
The architects achieved a fusion of the Shilpa Shastra of Indian architecture with Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture.
Beautiful and very interesting historical place to visit when are you in India.

Simple beauty within the compo by making use of the gate's arches and columns smartly to frame and lead smoothly with the glimpse of bg interest. Superb control of highlights and lots of rich colors to savour, particularly I love the ornated structure obviously being the greatest attraction here which is well complemented by people's presence. The overall effect is very pleasing to the eye, exposure is fine and lovely shadow plays there as if inviting us into the shot. Indeed this is a delightful shot in gorgeous colours and contrast. Congrats

Reading your note on this impressive place, Miro, it is indeed beautiful and very interesting location.
The picture is marvelousely applied, with good light enhanced the smallest details and the marvelous decorated gate.
Fascinating to watch, well done.
Enjoy a nice weekend,

Wonderful depiction of grand Rajasthani palace. I like the vibrant colours all over the frame specially the flowing turbans of those attendants. Beautiful artwork and architecture showing the grandiose lifestyle of yesteryear royals. Beautiful shot with lovely colours and good clarity. Thanks for sharing.

Miro, this is like a jewel encrusted embroidery or a Moghul miniature. Incredible colours enhanced by the glorious light. Fantastic details dazzle the eye. Amazing composition. One of your best achievements. I look at this and am reminded of the Romantic painters like Delacroix as far as colours go and of Ingres as far as the details go. Bravo. Best wishes. Klaudio.

HI Miro, very nice HDR,also if the red is a bit oversturated, but this is always the main problem of HDR postprocessions.Perfect choice of point of view and soft details like in a fairy tale,i like it! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

On est beaucoup plus près de la peinture que de la photographie dans cette composition. La texture de l'image ainsi que des couleurs est surréelle.Mais j'aime beaucoup ce qu'on peut observer par cette porte toute grande ouverte.

Excellent composition, well framed and rich in colours and ornamental details.

The building is magnificent, but for me it takes second place to the color in this scene! Red and blue, gold and grey, yellow orange and ochre, all combined so well in this burst of life. The fact that the strong red is from the mens clothes makes this even more lively, as the people definitely put that sense of life in the scene. Very nicely done with what looks like difficult light too!
All the best

a wonderful view at and through the magnificent palace entry gate, which surely gives the visitor a good idea of the elaborate architecture and the grandeur of the palace itself. I like very much how the tight framing has accentuated the rhythm of the diminishing reteating patterns of the arches. The decoration is rich and exotic and your description of it is excellent. I also like the deep and precise view in the background and the presence of colourfully dressed people at the gate, they add reference and scale, too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

A beautiful photo, well composed and perfectly balanced. The perspective chosen is ideal and allows to detail the various arches. The rating is interesting. This is slightly too saturated for my taste.
Good weekend of France.

my congratulations on this excellent quality photo. I like the vertical format which highlights the character of the composition as well as very smartly chosen POV. The multiple arches create very pretty eye leading element and their fine decorative details make one study this image for longer. The people present in the picture add very much to the composition in elegant and subtle way. Great vivid colors and superb sharpness.
TFS! Have a nice evening!

You present us Rajasthan as a very colourful region. Of course it is! But it's great to see it shown like that in its architecture and in the clothes of the people.
We can clearly admire the many wonderful architectural details here.
Excellent composition and depth.
Best regards, Paul

Wow, you've played right into the strength of this gate with a superb composition, reinforcing the repeating pattern with the compressed perspective. Rich detail and color to match the overall beauty of design, and I really like the small glimpse of what lies beyond in the complex. It has a gritty, textured appearance which is even more appealing to my senses. Everything has come together quite nicely, including the grouping of men, who are just as colorful in their attire. An exotic and alluring arrangement, very well done! Have a great day ahead. Take care.

A fascinating image, both the color and designs on walls, for the beautiful view of the succession of arches, which serve as natural setting, to show the beautiful facade of the palace in the background.
Perfect management of both luminosity and excellent sharpness.
Well done. I love the picture.
Enjoy the weekend.

What spectacular colors in this image from Jaipur. The pinkish walls in the foreground, the yellow building in the rear, and the red head dressings of the guards collaborate to make this a genuinely eye catching image. We were in Agra, New Delhi and Chandigarh in 2010 but missed Jaipur. I can see what we missed.

You had a good idea to use the arches to send the view toward the building in the background. The point of view is showing the details and the colours of the arches and of the building. The presence of the people is adding life to the scene. Have a nice day.
