A fantastic profile portrait of the young Indian woman, clear view of every thread of here hair, eyes big and beautiful.
What written about dark or light skin color is known and right. Young godess-beauty well collected.

Beautiful B&W portrait of this woman, her striking features are perfectly captured by you here and incredible sharp. Your note is fascinating too, I did not know that rich Indian woman held pale skin in such high regard. Here in Ireland, the people have skin as white as can be (thanks to a severe lack of sunshine!) and many woman (and some men!) use fake tan to try and darken their skin, as they believe that's a sign of beauty and wealth. It seems everybody wants to be something else. Excellent shot, and though provoking note, thank you.
All the best

I think that generally in India the higher casts tend to have lighter skin since they are mostly descendants of the invaders from western and central Asia who formed the Moghul dynasties. So white skin is a privilege to take care of. Beauty, on the other hand, is found all over India, regardless of colour. This woman is one of many and you have taken a very fine profile portrait. Colours would probaby have disturbed the "purity" of the composition.
Was she aware of the camera?

Wow! What a great portrait picture of this true beauty! Impressive one perfectly executed with good DOF, sharpness and clarity. The b&w option was a smart solution. Very well done!

Nice profile against the blurry background.
Brown or white, she is beautiful anyway.
fabbs99 (11126) 2013-10-19 13:22
She looks great.Indians prefer wheatish skin colors and dont want to look dark or tanned.Dark girls always don't get handsome bridegrooms. They don't understand what is important is the healthiness of the skin and it is not that white skin always look good.Nice presentation.TFS.

indiana o no, di sicuro è beauty.
Ma è beauty anche la tua foto, un ritratto rubato vale doppio, ha tutta la spontaneità che manca nel caso contrario.
PS potresti farmelo vedere il ws

beautiful model and really brilliant capture of her!
The moment, her facial expression and above all her meaningful look-it all works excellently together and the end result we see is so captivating!
It´s obvious what I think about your B&W treatment,so I mention only this magnificent bokeh you´ve created so well.
Beautiful shot of a beautiful girl!
Have a nice sunday

Ciao caro Valter,
What an interesting note you have written! Isn't it interesting that in India a pale skin is felt to be very important, especially in young attractive women?
This is a truly stunning portrait. I presume that this young lady was not aware that you were taking her photograph, but you have captured her extremely well. Your use of the widest aperture of your long lens has limited the depth of field and she stands out remarkably against a very nicely out of focus background. The light, the textures in her skin and hair, the tones and contrasts, are all superb and the details and sharpness are exquisite and, of course, so much better seen in the larger version we can see on "beta" TE.

Ciao Valter !!
very nice photo in B &W .......her profile and eyes are so well presented in the image.
I presume that you had plenty of time to prepare the camera settings and that she did not know that you were taking her photo.
have a nice Sunday.

Nice lady profile, sharp on the eye and enhanced by the blurred background, a B&W masterpiece.
Nevertheless, I find it too centered and the grey triangle at top left is too eye catching for my taste, so I propose you my cropped version in a WS.

Hello Valter - Your note is interesting, the women in Namibia and South Africa also use bleaching creams and unfortunately, over time, it causes terrible skin damage and scarring. Have we Caucasians had such a negative effect on what is considered beautiful? Sad.
Any way, a fine portrait; superb in B&W with excellent framing and use of negative space and of course your DOF is excellent here with a lovely soft background. Super shot. Warm regards rosemary

Relaxed expression. What a fabulous face, very authentic! and the processing works really well. Angle and pose are spot on with lot of feelings, indeed a stand out shot against the soft bg with good tonal contrast. Beautiful photo work, Congrats.

Nice portrait capture in B&W.
Allmost all entriess from Indıa here at TE shows women with traditional maquilage and dressing, this one is quite Western ! After having your note I know the reason.
Very porfessional b&w work.
TFS and best regards
