Un bapu* accroupi sur le pas de sa porte, dans la position favorite des indiens, et les femmes à l’intérieur, confectionnant des guirlandes de fleurs que les dévots leur achèteront quelques roupies pour les offrir aux dieux au cours de la puja (cérémonie d'offrande et d'adoration d’une divinité (Shiva, Vishnû, Lakshmi, Ganesh …).
*Bapu: une façon familière teintée de vénération d’appeler un père
Le mahatma Ghandi, le père de la nation, était appelé ainsi par les indiens

A bapu* crouching at his doorstep, in the favorite posture of Indians, and the women inside the house, preparing flower garlands that devotees will buy for a couple of rupies to offer to the gods during the puja (ceremony of offers and worship to the gods (Shiva, Vishnû, Lakshmi, Ganesh ….).
*Bapu is a Hindi word for "father", a familiar expression with a meaning of veneration
Mahatma Ghandi, the father of the nation was called this way by all Indians

Belle scène très bien composée. Le sourire de la jeune femme est agréable et la posture du bapu semble caractéristique (mais je ne m'y essaierai pas ...). Des couleurs très agréables.

Great double portrait, enlighten by a strong sunlight or in the dark shadow, all very well exposed. A good work, despite the man's foot has been cropped.. :-(

A sorely underrated image in my book. This is an excellent environmental portrait. Excellent composition and exposure with wonderful details in the highlights as well as in the shadows. Well done!

hi Patrick,
it's difficult to concentrate here - the old man in the foreground is in the sunshine, but doesn't look at us. on the other hand, the woman inside the house is in the shade, but she's looking in our direction and smiling...
absolutely wonderful colours - very natural, very "real".
