C’est en me perdant dans les dédales du fort d’Amber près de Jaipur que j’ai croisé cette femme. Elle travaillait sur un chantier de restauration du fort et portait sur sa tête un panier de ciment. La lumière dans le corridor en stuc était magnifique et j’ai attendu qu’elle passe devant la porte pour la prendre en photo.

It is losing myself in the maze of Amber Fort near Jaipur that I met this woman. She worked on a building site of restoration of the fort and carried on his head a basket of cement. The light in the corridor in stucco was beautiful and I waited she passes in front of the door to take a picture

Fine polish and tone of the photograph. The brown colour and the shining walls and ceiling looks wierd and incongrous compared to the lady standing in front of the door.
The orange cloth that is wrapped around the ladys hips has distinct and definite reflections on both the walls. The lady who looks to be a manual labourer has a full portrait with fantastic effects of light and shade.

Hello Bernard,
This is a beautiful and suprising composition. I wouldn't expect to meet a woman like that in a corridor like this. But regardless of that it's a very fine picture where the woman is perfectly placed by the light coming through the open door. The light and reflections are smoothly spread along the walls. Behind the woman is an area of darkness which enhances the impact of her straight figure.

Hello Bernard,
This picture instantly appealed to me. The shiny surfaces are very well captured. When we were at the Amber Fort we also saw several women carrying carrying building materials and mixing cement. Your picture is beautiful with this woman in the corridor. A truely amazing image that has been expertly managed and one that I would love to have taken - so it goes into my favourites.

C'est superbe! La femme est juste où il faut dans la lumière et tu as réussi un superbe effet en jouant avec la lumière et le zoom, créant ainsi un environnement magique pour cette splendide image.

Hello Bernard - I'm catching up with posts I missed while I was away. I agree with you, the light and reflections on the walls is lovely and waiting for the woman to stand in the doorway was a great idea as she completes the scene perfectly.
