This photo was taken near the Gateway of India. This is King Shivaji, King of the Marathas.
Shivaji led the battle against the Moghuls in Maharashtra. He fought them using guerilla warfare.
When we were in school one of the major portions of the history book was Shivaji's fight with the Moghuls. It was very colourful, adventerous and almost romantisided, like the tales of Robin Hood.
He is also known to have introduced Guerilla warfare in India.
I took this picture from a distance because the door to the park where this Statue is, was locked.
In the back is the Old Taj Hotel. Part of it was destroyed in a bomb blast. It is being restored. The new Taj Hotel has been built next to it. I will put up that picture too.
This photo was taken around sun set and the light was pretty bad and the smog levels were pretty high. The photo has come out very very grainy.
Partly also because I used ISO 100 film instead of a the recommended 400 for this camera. I have modified it a bit using increasing of black points, adjusting the gamma and finally using auto adjust.
