Bhirindiyara – A small otherwise non descript place in Guajarat, which attracts flocks of flamingoes in the winter in the shallow lakes which form from the rains

In order to go to the villages in Rann of Kutch, one has to take permits from the permit office located in Bhirindiyara. During winter, the queue of tourists swells up added to the ornithologists & bird watchers.

This Meghawal lady was applying cow dung on the walls of a mud building adjacent to the Permit Office. Notice the big golden nose ring she’s wearing!
