Photographer’s Note
This is the state of things in Nandaniben's household...
Many time when I used to visit, she would not be there. The (slightly) older children would be looking after the younger children. The twins were just 1 1/2 months old at the time.
Rahul is Nandaniben's third child. A really handsome young man, also very polite and well behaved. Its somehow sadder when you see all these characteristics..

Hi Kajal,
Wow, nice shot. Good sharpness, contrast and I like the tight cropping. Compared to Africa, they are doing pretty well. You won't find those little mosquito nets for babies - if any - in the average African village. Not that there is a concept like 'an average African village'.
Really a nice picture you got here. That basically accounts for the entire ragpicker series you did. Wonderful!
Greetings, Dennis

Nice capture very intimist with this soft light. I like the closeup to the hand of the boy as the hand that protect the baby.
Well done,

Impressive again Kajal, a great closeup as if you weren't even there, and love the shadows again. Quite an impressive image from the kit lens.

Hi Kajal, a nice daily shot with beautiful contrasts. Older brother take care of their younger bro/sis.. that's rare in Japan now. Kids are more selfish here. Anyways, a beautiful photo brings a great document about kids in India that's very nice.

Kaj - this is a mastery of the close frame image and you've nailed the light to but even more importantly all of these techni=cal things are brought to life by the fantastic relationship you've caught - just reflecting on the way you have shared the life of this family so intimately one begins to feel as if you know them - Nandaniben's life is somehow part of our lives now.

Kaj,
I think this is one of the best shots from your excellent series. The light, the relationship you have captured and the moment. Its all there and wonderfully presented. This one is going into my favourites.
Cheers

Very nice Kajal. Love your smooth tones on this one. They are so good, specially on the left center of the image. Those crisp blues are perfectly exposed. The scene itself is very beautiful, very tender, a great moment. The softness of the older brother skin is amazing. One of my favorite from the theme.

What I find extraordinary, it is large delicacy contained in this scene: the baby, fragile by definition, is covered with a delicate mosquito net, and the small girl seems to touch there with a great softness…
What comes out from this photograph, it is “Attention, fragile” "(Be carefoul : it is fragile)".
Good composition, and light.
Best regards. Grazyna.

The tight frame here brings the large looming hand even more into the picture - the hand of the older brother. No more to say the image says it all.
Brilliant!!

Very nice Kaj, another really good shot from you. Great light you were using and that has made all the difference. A good example of being in close, but not too close. I might consider dodging the eye just a little to lighten things; just not too much. Nicely done.
