Photographer’s Note
Nandaben's eldest daughter, Sonal...sweeps in vain...
Neighbours dump their household rubbish on Nandaben's doorstep. It is particularly bad for her as she lives on the edge of the slum. She has asked people to stop dumping, but they do not listen...

Hi Kajal
What a load of rubbish is right. Good documentary style shot. Interesting pov. The woman in the top right makes the shot. The perspective really emphasizes her struggle. Well done.

Great angle on this one Kajal, you've managed to fit in as much rubbish into the image as possible to overwhelm the viewer with it.
Funnily enough the left hand side of my screen is now full of google ads for waste disposal companies.

Does not hit me as hard as your previous pictures Kaj although I like the way you composed it. It looks little too clinical for me. Hope all is well. Any plans to go down to Kolkata?
Cheers

The endless struggles with rubbish in Ahmedabad......this image sums it up nicely...whether it's one person or a whole city there is such a problem with pollution there.....the image is nicely framed to me if nice is the right word...the truth is it's a horrible indictment of human behaviour......not just here in this place but in every link in the chain which allows this to continue as a way of life.......

This is quite good Kaj, it has lots going for it. I really like how you have tucked her up into the corner, with all the trash in the foreground. It creates a sense of isolation and nastiness, both of which are appropriate I think. The colors are really good here too. I just kind of wish she was angled a different way, I don't like how she is looking straight into the edge of the frame. Good shot.

So much plastic in india nowadays, it really is a scurge. Your chosen POV works so well, the collosal rubbish dump and the lone women - who can tackle this problem?

Very striking Kajal. Your photographs are really impressive. The short notes allways give important information too. Well done
