This is another daily scene captured in the old quarters of Ahmedabad. It was also taken early in the morning.
Far away from the crowds of tourists, a visit to the old quarters of this city can be a fantastic and magical experience and a chance to talk to the locals and watch their daily life.

Founded in the 15th century by Sultan Ahmed Shah, Ahmedabad is a fast growing city and the largest one in the Gujarat state.

this is a great street scene. you have composed this very well to give us a glimpse of life here. your viewpoint looking along the wall is excellent which draws the viewers eye into the scene, while the woman's orange dress and the red clothes on the line provide a great focal point.

Hello Ana,
I have found Ahmedabad to be one of the most genuine Indian big cities, generally very far from the tourist crowds and fairly untouched by the trends of globalization, at least 20-30 years ago. Maybe this has all changed, but this picture capttures very well the old atmosphere I found in the city and learned to enjoy. It really shows Indian daily life in a nice composition with excellent colours.

You would agree that one of the advantges of shooting in India is the vibrant color and always the best and strong element just like in this eye catching photo, the mild morning light and the stinging reds produce very appealing result even in the rather muted backdrop, all the important figs are at right position and placing the stars of the ocassion at a right place- this is about excellent composition. I like very much how at each level, there is something of interest to trigger the eyes. Lovely moment, the daily life, seeing people in this away from the tourist trails is what it's all about the real India. An excellent piece of daily life photography, Congrats, TFS

This is a fascinating daily life picture and could only be India. The colours of the clothes, the cows and the crumbling building all tell so much about life in this city. I like the way that the main interest is presented on a diagonal. Excellent clarity giving some fine detail.

I have the feeling that the cows in picture, live well on the poverty around, Ana.
The two ladies a bit under shade, understandably, gave a vivid scale on.
That'a a real daily-life scene, I recon, never been to India, though.

Hi Ana,

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and very fine tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle that people are living in daily life. It's impressive in the spectacle the wife who is washing, and in which the washing is hung out to dry to the clothespole. It's interesting in the structure of the wall, too. And, two calves with black and white at courtyard seem to be a spectacle in character with India.
