Photographer’s Note

That woman is tribal coming from the Hubli area in the state of Karnataka. She comes to Goa to sell handicrafts and clothes in Anjuna flea market which takes place every wednesday ..Actually I took few photos from her and she told me a few times : " Don t sell my photo"...it's was not my intention anyway...Hope U like it...

What an exotically bedecked damsel, Marilyn!
I see this is a spur-of-the-moment portrait of this rather fierce looking tribal woman from Karnataka.
The effects could have come out much better if you had the opportunity to shoot her [with your camera, I mean :)] with controlled light conditions.

Avec son regard intimidant, je n’aurais pas osé défier ses directives moi non plus... J’imagine que pour vendre ses bijoux, elle n’avait pas de kiosque puisqu’elle les porte tous sur elle!

En tous cas Marylin, tu nous présentes un portrait tout à fait original et singulier puisque ces traits laissent croire qu’elle vient en effet d’une tribu et conséquemment, on ne croise pas ces gens tous les jours. Les couleurs multiples et le scintillement des bijoux égayent cette photo et compensent pour ses yeux redoutables...

un beau portrait de cette femme indou, elle a le regard menacant, j'ai l'impression qu'elle n'était pas trop d'accord pour faire la photo, tous les bijoux sont une attraction a eux seuls.

Well taken portrait of the tribal lady. She is very splendidly decked out with all the jewellery and bright clothing. She looks fierce though.

Très beau portrait de cette femme indienne parée de "mille bijoux". Le regard perçant, voire menaçant, lié à ces yeux d'un noir profond est étonnant.
Vous avez respecté son souhait, la photo n'a pas été vendue, mais elle fait le bonheur des membres de TE d'apprendre ce qui se passe hors de notre pays.

A powerful portrait, which i think deserved to be taken with almost no other context than her incredible jewelry paraphernalia, especially as the sun is backlighting and washing the colors off a bit.
What a striking face, so masculine, arousing our interest already awakened with the heavily worn silvery.

Marilyn, more Karnatakan from Goa. I remember these folks well. You could have used Photoshop to trim your highlights, but the shot is sharp and draws you in. regards, c
