Mining is actually one of Goa's main revenues. This barge is only fit for river or coastal navigation and brings the iron ore from mines in the interior to the main harbour of Vasco da Gama. I stopped my bike on Pänjim bridge to get the high POV...
In the WS, a view of the entire barge

Le minerai de fer est une des principales ressources du petit état de Goa... Cette péniche qui semble prête a couler transporte le minerai depuis les mines à l'intétérieur du pays vers le port côtier de Vasco da Gama...
En WS, une vue plus éloignée de cette péniche...

Salut Laurent,

Le cadrage est excellent et rès efficace. Les quatre marins permettent de se fair une idée de la taille de l'engin. Très belle couleur bien saturée et qui ressort d'une belle façon dans l'image.

Finalement te revoilà ;) cette péniche semble avoir pas mal vécu et l'angle de prise de vue donne l'impression qu'elle est gigantesque. Bonne lumière qui révèle bien les détails et couleurs bien rendues.
Sympa la photo dans le ws.

Hi Laurent,
Photos concerning seafaring and naval issues have always attracted me, maybe because the meaning of my name, Deniz, is "The Sea", who knows :)
Very good POV and a photo full of sharp details and the lavish daily life in a trading ship. I cannot help thinking about a tighter crop, sacrificing some pixels from the bottom would not cause any drastical loss in the compo, imo.

c'est incroyable ce que la péniche paraît plus grande surla photo principale que sur celle du WS!Je me demande bien où tu étais perché pour la prendre d'aussi haut!c'est vrai que la péniche paraît fatiguée,mais bon, elle fonctionne toujours!J'aime bien ton cadrage sur l'avant,et les couleurs rouille du bateau et des cordes!Bien vu!

Même les personnages sont oxydés par la rouille.

Even if this was the Titanic I think this ship is sailing on a place without icebergs. But I agree: this ship isn’t the right décor for a Hollywood movie, but yet an attractive picture.

So where are you now...still in Paris? I just came back visiting Daman for a couple of days. Thanks top your crop here, the barge looks huge. I don't think they did a painting job ever, only the brown of primer paint. Interestingly this does look like Titanic..except a bit unromantic ;-)

Ils ne me semblent plus très robustes les garde-corps à l'avant de la péniche... Un cadrage intéressant et lumineux sur ce détail du navire patiné par le temps comme on peut le constater sur ta vue générale... Où est Di Caprio sur les 4 !!! Bien vu Laurent.
