Photographer’s Note

Walking along old narrow Portuguese streets in Diu, I met many friendly women and children who wanted me to stop, sit with them, and have some tea. The streets are winding and ancient, resembling a village lost in time, from when Portugal still ruled the tiny island. The huge crumbling city wall still remains in place, a good part of the way around Diu. Diu's army fort outer edges are solid as ever, built for war, on the edge of the Arabian Sea.
